  9. The Aphid is a short-range, all-aspect, IR-guided dogfight missile similar to the American Sidewinder family of missiles. The standard close-in weapon since the 1970s, it can be carried by almost all Russian aircraft and helicopters but is now being replaced by the AA-11 Archer.
